Almond Halwa is the God of Gods in the Sweet world. Nothing can beat this – take one mouthful of this halwa and you will attain the abode of God! Its absolutely delicious! My husband has been away from home, studying so hard at MBA school and he is coming home for Diwali. So what better way to greet him than give him some almond halwa with love!

Almond Halwa

Ingredients
- 2 cups Almonds
- 1 cups Whole Fat Milk
- 3 tbsp Ghee/ Clarified Butter
- 2.5 cups Sugar
- 2 pieces Cardomon
- a pinch Food Color/ Saffron

Preparation
- Soak almonds for 4 hours in water and then peel the skin.
- Add blanched almonds and milk in the food processor.
- Grind until it forms a smooth paste. This paste should be thick but should be able to flow through.
Sweet
- Heat 1 and a half tbsps of ghee in a large pan and add almond paste.
- Stir it in and add sugar and stir well.
- After the sugar melts and the mixture starts to splutter, add the remaining ghee.
- When the halwa thickens and ghee leaves the sides, add saffron strands or food color.
- Top it with powdered cardamom and serve.
Notes
Keep in medium flame and keep stirring to avoid halwa getting burnt.
