Recently I threw all my non-stick Teflon coated pans, pots and baking sheets. Yep, threw them. Right out of the window umm okay right out of the door. I replaced all of them with ceramic and stainless steel pots and pans. I also replaced my “non-stick” pizza pan with a pizza stone that I got at my local supermarket.
I was so excited to find an organic pizza crust at Whole Foods Market. And tonight, it was pizza night. It turned out really well! After baking, the crust was somewhat thin and crispy nevertheless very tasty. I was never a fan of thin crispy pizzas (was being the keyword). After trying this, I acquired a taste for thin pizzas. Maybe because it is organic. Maybe because it is homemade. ? Whatever the reason, this pizza is wayyyy healthier than store bought. We have the choice over the ingredients added too and I just love that!
Organic Piza
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Organic Olive Oil
- 2 tbsp Organic Pizza Sauce
- Organic Mozzarella Chese (I added just enough to cover the pizza crust)
- 1 cup Paneer Cubed
- 1 cup Onions
- 1 cup Tomatoes
- 10 pieces Banana Peppers
- 1 tsp Ground Black Pepper
- a pinch Salt
Instructions
- Preheat the stone in a cold oven at 450F for 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile brush the crust with olive oil.
- Add pizza sauce and add grated cheese over the sauce.

- Add toppings and grind black pepper over the toppings.

- Sprinkle some salt.
- Once the stone is heated, gently slide the prepared crust onto the stone.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes until done.

- Add some crushed red pepper and enjoy!

Notes
- Never place the pizza stone inside a hot oven. Make sure the oven is cold. Otherwise the stone will just crack.
- Preheat the stone for at least 15 minutes.
- When removing the stone from the oven, do not immediately place on a cold surface. My stone came with a rack and it is recommended to place it on a rack and let the stone come to room temperature gradually.
- I found sliding the pizza crust onto the hot stone with a large spatula very helpful.
- Don't add too much tomato sauce otherwise the pizza will become soaked in sauce (yikes!)
- Keeping the oven light switched on was helpful. Watch for the cheese to melt and bubble. That indicates that the pizza is done.
